Doctors Must Warn Patients About Chemicals

In a recent new health statement from a top health organization, some chemicals in the environment, such as mercury and lead, have been shown to be harmful to your health.

According to the study, these chemicals could cause several problems, including birth defects or diabetes; however, research hasn’t shown which ones are the most dangerous.

The purpose of the study is to raise awareness of the elements in our environment, and increase the education of health care professionals and pregnant women patients.

A statement published in the journals Fertility and Sterility, asks doctors to help their patients reduce their exposure to certain chemicals. The statement says, “Reducing exposure to toxic environmental agents is a critical area of intervention for obstetricians, gynecologists, and other reproductive health care professionals.”
