IndyCar Driver Injured

For those of you interested in race cars, did you hear about Dario Franchitti’s horrific crash the other day during the final lap of the Houston Grand Prix?

Three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti’s car went airborne, crashing into a fence that scattered debris into the crowd and injured 13 people. Reports indicate that a woman was trapped underneath the fence.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital and treated for a concussion, spinal fracture and a fractured right ankle. Three of the 13 injured people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident is under investigation to determine the cause. Auto racing is a fast and dangerous sport and in this case, it was dangerous for the spectators as well.

I wish Franchitti a fast and complete recovery.
