Man Injured In Forklift Accident

Man Injured In Forklift Accident

Seemingly routine work turned into a hospital visit the other day. It brought to light the inherent risks that workers face in industrial areas.

According to the Industrial Truck Association, there are approximately 850,000 forklifts in operation throughout the United States. Comparing this number with accident statistics published by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, more than 1 in 10 forklifts will be involved in an accident every year.

Firefighters extracted a piece of metal from a man’s knee after a work accident occurred.

According to reports, an employee was using a forklift to haul a trailer when, for unknown reasons, the trailer broke free. A piece of metal flew off the trailer and pierced the man through the back of his knee. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

I wish the victim a speedy and complete recovery.
