Worker Electrocuted At The Honda Center

A 35-year old worker died the other day after being shocked by live wires at the Honda Center in Anaheim

The man was part of a group of contract workers doing electrical work when he “came in contact with live wires”, according to the Anaheim Fire Department. Apparently, he accidentally cut some electrical wires while working on an elevated platform at the facility.

Paramedics were called; they took him by ambulance to a nearby hospital where he was treated for critical injuries sustained on the job. He died a couple of hours later.

Cal-OSHA is investigating the death to determine if there was liability on the part of the employer for this man’s death. It is required that companies whose workers are exposed to this type of danger are properly trained and where adequate safety clothing for protection.

My sincere condolences go out to the family of this young man, killed on the job.

Usually a surviving family member of the decedent will decide to file a wrongful death lawsuit. These lawsuits can be filed to collect monetary damages to cover medical expenses, funeral expenses and lost wages.
